I Spit Hot Fire

Welcome to The Drip. Like Rebecca Black used to say “IT’S FRIDAY!” Here’s what’s in store for ya:
Pokemon Obsidian Flames DROPS 🔥🔥🔥
Mega Millions hits
for $1.5B - What cards would you buy?!
1) Obsidian Flames is here and it’s spitting hot fire

The new Pokemon set drops today. Pull rates reported by TCGPlayer look pretty reasonable. On twitter there has been a lot of chatter about people pulling tons of Charizards.

It’s too soon to tell but this is shaping up to be a fun one to rip. The downside of good pull rates of course is the limited ceiling of value for the set.
Besides the Charizard cards, which are always going to be popular, this is one of the best promo cards I’ve seen in a while:

Charmander comes with the Elite Trainer box.
This second awesome promo is hitting in Japan right now with preorders of The Return of Detective Pikachu game on the Nintendo Switch:

Obsidian Flames will be widely available and you should have no issues finding stock to purchase.
2) The Mega Millions $1.5B jackpot has been hit by someone in Florida. This got me thinking. If I was the lucky winner of the lottery, what cards would I buy (more likely what cards would I not buy). But limiting myself to 3 cards I’d go with the following:
The 🐐 card - Michael Jordan 1986 Fleer RC - I’d want the 2006 buyback version with auto though. Only 23 of these cards were signed and randomly inserted in Fleer packs.

There perfect combination - Larry Bird/Julius Erving/Magic Johnson 1980 Topps Scoring Leaders - Basically Bird’s rookie card, which alone makes it a must for me, but throw in Dr. J and Magic and this card is unbelievable.

The other 🐐 card - Tom Brady 2000 Playoffs Contenders Championship Ticket - The parallel of course. Only 100 of these exist and it’s flawless. The beginning of the dynasty and THE Brady card to have.

But enough about what my choices, what would you pick? What are your grails or must haves? If money was no object which is the first you would buy? Drop a comment below and let me know.

In the early 80s the WWE (originally the WWF) did not exist. All the wrestlers we love from those days instead wrestled in independent circuits around the US. WWE consolidated a majority of these territories under their umbrella throughout the decade, but when the 1982 Wrestling All-Star cards debuted circuits were still divided.
From this set of cards there is none bigger than the Hulkster. Essentially Hulk Hogan’s rookie card (one was created in 1981 but it was a cut out from a magazine and made with thin paper) it sells for a few thousand dollars and is extremely popular.
But taking just one look I think you can see why. This is a great looking card that would be the cornerstone of any wrestling card fan’s collection.
